Here are five reasons why you need golf Big Canoe, GA

1. Three 9 Hole Courses

Creek Course

The creek nine starts with a short par four. From the blue, white or yellow tees, the tee shot is a visually intimidating carry, over Lake Sconti. Once that is negotiated, the approach is to a small, two-tiered green, defended by two bunkers…back and front.

Choctaw Course

A mid-distance par four to start the nine, playing downhill to a generous fairway turning slightly left for the approach. The second shot plays over a trout stream, and the green is protected by bunkers on the left front. Be careful as the stream turns back and catches balls pushed right of the green.

Cherokee Course

A great start to the Cherokee nine, this challenging par four turns right around a steep slope with an uphill second shot. Players must be careful on their drive…either playing short, or fading their tee shot away from the three fairway bunkers on the left side. The green has room in the back, so be sure to hit enough club.

2. Stunning Views and Elevation Changes

This Joe Lee designed 27-hole course at Big Canoe weaves through around Lake Sconti and through woods, meadows, covered bridges and amazing mountain-top scenery. This is one of the top rated courses in North Georgia, the course is open year round to residents and guests of Big Canoe owners (vacation rentals). 3. Improved Greens in 2021 and 2022

Big Canoe spends so much time on improving this community and the amenities year after year. Recently with the Creek course, they improved greens and redesigned bunkers. Enhancements that make the course both more challenging and fairer.

4. Private Course

Just one hour north of Atlanta, GA, Big Canoe is a private, gated, master-planned community designed to achieve harmonious integration of the natural beauty of the land, with those elements most desired in a residential mountain community.
