1. Lake Petit Big Canoe
Lake Petit’s 100 foot deep water is known for its abundance of rainbow trout with the average trout running about 2 lbs. They stock the Lake Petit in Big Canoe. Bass, bluegill, crappie and brim are also known to swim the waters of Big Canoe’s Lake Petit and Lake Sconti. Permits are required for anyone 12 or over prior to fishing and you can purchase them at Marina. Call The Marina at Lake Petit at 706-268-3303.
2. Lake Sconti Big Canoe
Lake Sconti, in the middle of the town of Big Canoe, is great for fishing for bass, crappie and brim. The lake is a great place to take a leisurely paddle. Be aware that only canoes and rowboats are allowed on the lake. Also, the lake is bordered by a golf course, so watch out for errant golf balls.

4. Frog Hollow Fly Fishing – Dahlonega
Dahlonega is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and one-third of the county is in the Chattahoochee National Forest, making Dahlonega a great place for trout fishing. All of the streams described below are easily accessible from Dahlonega, and contain stocked rainbow, native rainbow, and brown trout except where noted. However, the trophy trout population in the streams has been sharply reduced in recent years by the encroachment by otter.
